What’s The Deal With CBD Oil?

There’s a good chance you’ve heard something about CBD oil lately, whether that be on social media, in popular articles, or just through a friend, but unlike most health trends that tend to come and go, CBD oil is actually worth the hype. Before I get into the reasons why I personally love it and added it to my daily regimen, let’s talk about what CBD oil is—and isn’t.

First things first, what is it? CBD is a non-psychoactive component of the hemp/cannabis plant. Often when people hear the word cannabis, they immediately think of marijuana but the CBD oil used for supplementation is made from industrial hemp (making it legal in most states), which has a completely different genetic profile and contains only a very minuscule amount of THC, so it’s great for those looking for the benefits of cannabis without the “high.” It’s very important to note that standard hemp oil usually found in supermarkets or on Amazon for really cheap is a completely different product than CBD oil and doesn’t contain all the naturally-occurring terpenes, cannabinoids and other components—aka the good stuff—that CBD oil does. On top of that, there are also a lot of multi-marketing companies jumping on the CBD oil bandwagon lately that aren’t quality brands or products. The good news is, when it comes to finding a CBD oil company you can actually trust, I already did the research for you below.

So what is CBD oil actually used for? Well, while I can only personally say that I notice I have much less anxiety and panic attacks while supplementing with CBD oil (something I struggle with on a daily basis), CBD oil companies simply recommend its use for general wellness alone, as they cannot make any health claims regarding dietary supplement products. However, many of the personal user testimonies I read online stated that CBD oil seems to relieve their pain and inflammation, calm their anxiety and depression, curb nausea, help with insomnia, promote cardiovascular health, help with epileptic seizures, and much more. Again, CBD oil companies do not make these claims, these are just personal testimonies from users alone.

When researching the best of the best CBD oils on the market, I read through various websites, forums, reviews, and social media posts, and the one brand I kept seeing amazing things about was Bluebird Botanicals. The Colorado-based company uses a clean, cold extraction method on their 100% Colorado-grown hemp and have an industry-leading quality control system with third party laboratories analyzing all of their hemp extracts and products for cannabinoid potency, heavy metals, bacterial and microbial life, fungus, and pesticides.

From tinctures and easy-to-swallow capsules to vape oil and even pet products, Bluebird Botanicals offers seemly endless options when it comes to supplementing with CBD oil, making it a perfect brand for beginners and regular users. I personally enjoy the extra concentrated Hemp Classic 6x, using it twice a day under the tongue, but I also really love the Hemp Complete (a high-terpene formulation of various raw and heated hemp extracts), the unique Hemp Signature (a blend of hemp, frankincense, and black seed oil), and the Companion Oil for my daughter/love of my life/doggo, Luna. She truly loves it and RUNS over when she sees me get the bottle out of the cabinet.

When it comes to which type of CBD oil product to choose and how much to use a day, it really just depends on the person and their preferences and body. Bleubird Botanicals recommends starting with anywhere from 5-15 drops once or twice a day, but also suggest experimenting to see what feels best to each person. If you’re thinking CBD oil might be a good supplement for you, please talk to your doctor first to make sure it’s right for you. As for me (and Luna), we couldn’t recommend it enough.
